A cross between 2001 and a generic post apocalyptic pulp fiction novel with overbearing soundtracks drowning out the dialogue.
Add on a few misplaced story elements (the entire ice planet subplot could have been substituted for a simple meteorite in space) and over explanation of the third act (the robot was only there to explain everything) and this film ended up being weaker than it could have been if the director had trusted the audiences to figure things out for themselves. This sad fact is all the more poignant when you learn this is the same directory as Memento and Inception
